CLASSIC OLD MAN FELL RACE

SUNDAY JULY 22 ^nd 2007 at 2.00pm — Cumbria

 

Medium AM Fell race of ~ 6miles/2400 feet elevation approx.

 from Coniston Hall (GR 332963) on shores of Lake Coniston to top of Old Man and back and run in conjunction with Coniston Country Fair.

After a very successful re–introduction in 2005, of this famous race, who’s name will be on this prestigious perpetual cup this year. A cup which dates

back to1978, including the following winners : –

F. Reeves, K. Stuart, S.Carr, J.Atkinson etc.

Also Junior Fell  race O12’s to U 18’s @ 2.05pm of 2 miles and 600 feet.

Coniston Country Fair (starts 12 noon) offers the visitor a chance to experience a traditional country fair. The fair takes place in the unique lakeside setting of Coniston Hall against the magnificent backdrop of Coniston Old Man and is a prime attraction to thousands of visitors and locals alike.
