How is the redevelopment of copeland stadium going? Its probably been a year since I was there. What kind of facilities are available now and is it open to the public- i.e, can we go on any time (Well most of the time) and train like you can on the sheepmount?

Ta much

Paul

I've been down at Copeland recently. The track, carpark and astroturf pitche are all finished. The building is mostly completed, but they still hadn't got the changing rooms and stuff finished.

It's not open to the public yet, the official opening is next Friday (24th).

i remember bein told that they were movin the circle an puttin a new cage up. Sounds about par for the course. Still, it wont be as bad as carlisle, no throwing facilities (apart from a run way for the spear-chuckers) for the first 6month after it opened!lol

made it back to Copeland for the first time in over a year last week, was incredibly disappointed with what I saw, sandpits still needing dug out, no netting on the (old, and too small) discus cage, random bits of timber and a foot high pile of rockslittered aound the shot circle/sector and best of all, all the equipment squashed into a building site container.
Took me ten minutes just to climb over everything and find a shot in the dark!
